Graeme Nicholas

Managing Director &
Property Expert

More of a mentor, than a stiff managing director, Graeme takes a strong personal interest in every client. It’s the sort of hands-on approach you’d expect from someone who started his career in the building business on the ground floor. Getting his start as an apprentice, then qualified carpenter, means Graeme understands all aspects of the building trade. After moving into a diverse range of building and construction roles, Graeme honed his skills and knowledge working in supply chain positions, project management and sales and marketing – before branching out on his own in 2008.

With a wealth of industry knowledge, Graeme focuses on the building and property side of the business – from finding land for first homeowners, to helping investors secure approval for a duplex development. By managing the whole process from beginning to end, Graeme’s experience means that there are no unexpected surprises. Graeme understands what can be realistically achieved, according to a client’s budget and time frame. Graeme is also a licensed real estate agent and he is conscious of supporting developments that sit comfortably within the environment.

A family man through-and-through, Graeme also enjoys everything the Sunshine Coast has to offer and he does like to unwind with a round of golf, or two.

Jack Nicholas

Operations Manager &
Finance Broker

Some people say never work with family, but Jack was always keen to join Graeme and Lorraine in the family business. Having lived and breathed the business from a young age, Jack found he had a natural affinity with the property and finance world.

After graduating from high school in 2010, Jack joined Hometree taking on various roles to learn the ropes including accounts, operations and client liaison. In 2016 Jack helped to establish Hometree Finance, alongside Mark Young and went on to qualify as a licensed mortgage broker in 2020.

Jack takes pride in offering clients tailored finance options, from a wide variety of lenders, according to their personal needs and goals. Needless to say, family is a big part of Jack’s life along with his love of sport – especially golf.

Lorraine Nicholas

Office Manager

Having spent 30 years as a theatre nurse, and also time working in radiation oncology, Lorraine has a caring, practical, non-nonsense attitude that gets things done. Now an integral part of Hometree, Lorraine works alongside Graeme, Jack and the rest of the team – to take care of accounts, office management, day-to-day administration and nurturing client relationships.

With the efficiency of a busy mother and a woman who’s spent so many years in the medical field, Lorraine has an overarching role in the business – and still finds the energy to enjoy bike riding and swimming.

Mark Young

Finance Broker

With over 25 years experience as a senior banker, with the Commonwealth Bank, under his belt Mark joined Hometree Finance in 2016. After his many years in corporate/business banking and working with high net worth individuals, Mark is passionate about using this experience to help Hometree Finance clients with their business, personal and life goals. Committed to delivering exceptional service and building long-term relationships, Mark takes a big picture view when tailoring finance solutions to individual client needs.

Outside of work Mark is a dedicated family man who loves his sport and he is also heavily involved in the community and Maroochydore AFL Football Club.

Steve Trussell

Finance Broker

After 30 years with NAB in both residential and commercial departments, Steve has become a valuable member of the Hometree Finance team. His experience includes the commercial sector as a Business Banking Relationship Manager, handling all the business & personal finance needs of a wide cross section of clients.

Steve has also spent 17 years in the Finance Broking industry dealing with residential & investment transactions, while also still assisting clients with their business and commercial needs.

When Steve isn’t working, he enjoys camping trips around Australia and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
